It's been a great week at Taranaki Retreat; progress continues at a superb pace, thanks to the generosity of our volunteers, and the brilliant weather.
Photos show the work of the earthbag wall, well under-way - Frank and Peter had a system in place on Saturday. Very very neat!
Also impressive was the re-positioning of the tin shed -- which we screwed onto some bearers and four of us (thanks, Gary, Andrew and Tom) lugged to the far corner of the site, where it's much more sheltered and tucked away. Pretty hard graft.
This week, we have lots planned, and will be working on site Tuesday through to Saturday. Please come and join us if you can :-
- We will have a 5 tonne digger on site for the week. Ernie digger-legend will be making around 200 holes for planting.... Top soil and mulch will be delivered ready to go in the holes.
- BNZ Closed for Good day is Thursday - their awesome fantastic staff will be working on site all afternoon, assisting with the above; chainsawing wood; clearing the dead stuff out from around the waterway.
Thanks so much for your support and prayers; don't hesitate to get in touch.
