Thank you so much.
Taranaki Retreat is a registered NZ Charity with a committed Trust Board and meticulous financial oversight.
How much goes on administration?
Often charities have to carry a major administrative burden as an unavoidable cost. Not in our case. Our work is spectacularly supported by a Taranaki Chartered Accountancy Firm - Tandem Group.
As part of their incredible contribution to their community, Tandem Group donates all the administration around the work of the Trust so that we can focus on what we do best; and so that all our fundraising goes into doing the mahi we're here to do. So - any donation to the Retreat - will not be soaked up in administration costs. Just FYI!
You can support Taranaki Retreat forever, through a bequest or donation to our fund at Te Karaka Foundation.

Te Karaka Foundation
Your gift will keep on giving because all the donations to this fund are pooled together and invested. The capital remains intact and each year the investment income is distributed to Taranaki Retreat to help with the operating costs and later on, to develop this wonderful facility further.
How can you give?
Bequests and donations are made by people who want to make a positive difference to their community. You can leave a lasting legacy by:
Leaving a bequest
Your bequest to Taranaki Retreat’s Endowment Fund can be any size – a specific amount or a per cent of your estate. (If 20 people left a bequest of $20,000 each, the Retreat would receive around $16,000 every year, forever.)
Giving a donation
You can give a lump sum to Taranaki Retreat’s Endowment Fund, or set up a regular automatic payment. This enable you to see the benefit of your giving and you gift is eligible for a 33.3% tax rebate. Whatever level of giving you choose, your bequest or donation will help Taranaki Retreat build financial security, forever.
Why did we set up an endowment fund?
An endowment fund with Te Karaka Foundation provides us with a way to manage new and existing charitable giving and ensure that funds designated for this use are managed and invested efficiently and effectively.
How do I find out more?
To talk about the best way for you to support the work of Taranaki Retreat, please contact Te Karaka Foundation (phone 06 758 0899 or email), or talk to your legal advisor. Thank you!
