Dear Friends of Taranaki Retreat
Momentum is certainly gathering in the building of this community facility here in Taranaki.
We are most profoundly grateful for the loan of an excavator, which has enabled a large soakage bed to be dug, ready for the wastewater system, and the building platform for the Lodge (where guests will stay) to be prepared.
Externally, the Retreat Family Home has been treated to some excellent attention to the roofing, weatherboarding and spouting. Internally, all the wall-linings have been removed ready for gib; all the ceilings the same, and the internal wiring has been completed.
The most intruiging moment to date, probably (and there have been many!) - was the discovery of a large honeycomb, dripping with gorgeous sweet honey, behind the boards in one of the bedrooms. Strange smell now explained!
Meanwhile - thank you very much indeed for your support for the "Kind Hands" programme for the Chapel - it's a great idea for a Christmas gift. If you've not got yours yet, please have a look at our Givealittle page and support the building of this healing space.
All the very best to you and yours for Christmas, from all the Team at Taranaki Retreat :)
