Kia ora, friends of Taranaki Retreat
Thanks to the extraordinary kindness of :
- Some amazing individuals -- THANK YOU
- Powerco, who have donated a transformer
- Z Stations, who have donated a power pole
- Cables NZ, who donated generously to the cost of the install
- Obertech, who are very kindly supporting the Retreat with a very generous install
....The Retreat will be powered up by Mid-September. HOORAY!!
The journey to getting the Retreat powered up has been a long one, but it has been achieved. This is such a weight off all our minds, as we are so keen to open our doors and to begin serving Taranaki people. Electricity brings with it access to water and out the other side again with a working sewage system.
Such a big moment in the build process. THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU.
Meanwhile, After Disaster got right behind the Retreat project, and laid the carpets in the Retreat Family Home -- so very very generously. Thank you folks. This means that the Retreat Family will move onto the site by mid-September. Another huge milestone.
Finally, much appreciation to BNZ who have chosen to support the Retreat again for the Closed for Good day this year, and their team will be working hard on making the little bush valley into a beautiful secluded peaceful haven at Taranaki Retreat.
To all our supporters -- this is when you begin to see your support really taking shape. Please do swing by and check out progress when you can, at 517 Hurford Road.
PS - does anyone have a concrete mixer we could borrow for a week, please? We have a new earthbag wall to construct, and a foundation area to lay for our shed. Please drop us an email, as we hope to do this within the next week. THANK YOU!
